Julia Schemmer (aka Julia Darling) is the founder of She Speaks Media Enterprises! She's currently a senior from Horsetown USA, who enjoys participating in AP classes, extracurriculars, and leadership positions. She holds a 4.7 grade point average, is president of four clubs, is an intern at seven different places, and can quote Disney movies like its nobody's business. Julia is obsessed with The Fault in Our Stars, giant teddy bears from Costco, Victor Hugo, and all things related to journalism. She strives for a world where Leonardo DiCaprio will finally win an Oscar and she will win a lifetime supply of Oprah chai tea lattes.

Claire Tran is a 17 year-old girl sweatin’ it out in sunny Northern California. She balances her hectic life of advanced academics in the International Baccalaureate program, volunteer work at the local children's science museum, and her multiple journalism internships at various online magazines and blogs. Music is her greatest passion: she plays percussion in her high school band, and spends a large majority of her allowance on concert tickets. She loves yoga, quesadillas, Hawaiian shirts, NorCal slang, and pop punk.

My name is Shubhavi Arya. I am a high school student. I have an innate enthusiasm for science, and am extremely passionate about mountains, submarines, sub-aquatic species and the natural world. My diverse skills and perspectives have shaped my academic and career goals in a unique way. I am the founder of Teen Friend, an intern at Her Culture magazine, writer for the Smart Girls Group and blogger for STAND and have participated in and chaired several Model United Nations conferences. Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time outdoors and figure skating. In my free time, I love to do ballet, travel, and watch movies.

Kaavya Raman, Director of Business

Kaavya (aka “Kavs”) is a 16 year old from New Jersey. She’s an avid reader, writer, and photographer, with ambitions of having a successful career in business. She enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, from London Grammar to Arctic Monkeys to Ed Sheeran. Her go to Starbucks drink is the chai tea latte and the peppermint mocha in the winter. In addition to writing for She Speaks, Kavs is a third-degree black belt in karate and a figure skater.
